Petr is generally interested in diversity, phylogeny and evolution of various groups of hymenopteran parasitoids. By using several fascinating models from Chalcidoidea and Ichneumonoidea (gall-maker parasitoids, gall-makers, secondary phytophagous species, egg parasitoids, spider parasitoids) combining with state-of-the-art morphology and molecular-based techniques his team is exploring the role of morphological and functional adaptations on diversification of parasitoids. The team also has taxonomic expertise in many targeted groups of hymenopteran parasitoids.

Kristýna’s research is focused on phylogeny and evolution of host specialisation of the genus Torymus (Chalcidoidea: Torymidae). Using target genomic sequencing she studies how various traits (e.g., length of ovipositor, hosts) influence generalisation, specialisation and host shifts of parasitoids.

Valeriy focuses mostly on speciation and diversification of host-parasitoid relationships between praying mantises and their hymenopteran parasitoids (Torymidae: Podagrioninae) using morphology and ultraconserved elements of genomes. He is investigating also the role of very unique type of parasitoids‘ behavior (phoresy) on evolution of host-parasitoid relationships.
Valeriy has excellent expertise also in Mantodea natural history and taxonomy.

Antonín focuses on the spatiotemporal distribution of insects along tropical elevational gradients. In his research, he aims to link biotic and abiotic drivers to achieve a holistic understanding of previously overlooked patterns. His current work includes predator–prey and parasitoid–host interactions, ecomorphology, and the prediction of shifts in realised niches.
Antonín has extensive experience in hoverfly identification, advanced statistical methods, and applied conservation projects.

Helena is working on host-specificity evolution of Darwin wasps and spiders as their hosts. In her research she is combining genomic data (3RAD sequencing) with morphological and ecological characteristics, including host manipulation.
Helena has excellent expertise also in natural history and identification of spiders.
